Update:
The Crew from Saratoga used to reply-all to funny Weekend Update emails. Gradually, those emails turned into monthly updates.
In the Radio Instrument block of the flight school syllabus, I had no time to properly update you. A lot of cool stuff happened in the past month or two. In almost random order, a bulleted summary follows:
- Hockey ended. Our team, Southern Stallions, won the season cup. I still suck though.
- Sarah bought me tickets to see my musical inspiration, Les Claypool, at a July FL concert. I’m hoping Skerik will be on tour with him.
- My newest music recording idea is to re-record Dueling Banjos with my bass and tenor sax.
- I asked Zac to finish my fretless bass since I purchased those $250 EMG fretless pickups 7 years ago. He said he’d finish it for free.
- Moose said he’d make my site aesthetically delightful for free as well. I can’t wait…well, I can, and will.
- I finished my 45 day Colonix colon cleansing. I don’t feel that different. My sister, MD, thinks it’s bullshit.
- Lake Champlain’s VALCOUR, my father and my favorite of the LCT ferries, hasn’t yet (phew!) been sold to some southern delta Co. We’re grateful. It, along with the lake, were major contributing factors for the 17 year old Jim Cooley to decide to attend CGA.
- Sarah repeatedly/almost-overwhelmingly gets modeling, movie acting, TV show, and photo shoot offers.
o For her current movie, Impiety, her and her brother wrote and recorded a pop song. The director, Bill, adored the tune. It’s perfect for the movie. I was amazed at how Sarah can change her voice to sound so – teenie/pop/dance/Idon’tknowhowelsetodescribe sounding. Her brother makes me feel novice when it comes to recording. During one of the sessions, her bro…ugh….read Sarah and her dog’s blogs – sparing blog-repetition…she tells the story I was about to start.
o I’m proud of my girlfriend.
- My sister graduated medical school from Buffalo. The graduation was so fun. The trip made me appreciate my sister, old architecture, my family, the seasons, and not being in flight school. I’m proud of my sister. She’s currently ripping it up on a well-deserved European vaca with her so-cool roomie, Natalie. Erin returns to start employment in Worchester, MA next month.
- My GD winging date got pushed back so I don’t think I’ll make Kyle’s roadtrip. Although, as of 5/29, I have only 11 more events left, I won’t get my wings until 6/30.
o I’m planning on vacationing myself. I’d love to MAC fly to Europe/wherever again. I also want to roadtrip the west coast with Sarah. I want to rock Saratoga with the Cooley’s et al.
o But apparently, I need to report in to another new duty station, be the new guy, buy a house, and attend my T Course in Mobile, AL for 7 weeks starting on Aug 28th. The T Course is where I’ll learn to fly the Jayhawk.
o Employment is for the birds!
- Conglomerate Rock, the rocking song I’ve been working on for 6 months, is getting closed to completion. I’ve spent about 80 hours on it. It’s okay.
- I’ve been gigging regularly with a jazz big band.
- Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed and Cambria concert over Easter. What a weekend! The concert was good, the company was great.
- SNL gets an A with their mammoth 3-show closeout this season.
- This past weekend was a hoot:
o Swimming with pugs in huge house pool/spa.
o Sarah’s tennis lessons.
o Calzones weighing 15 lbs. Eating them all.
o 1st house hunt with Sarah.
